EMILY'S BLOG - suMMER AT stratford park

Hi – Emily here! Here to tell you about the hook and loop activity I went to on the 5th August, in a new place called Stratford Park in Stroud.

Firstly we sat in a circle and made name labels. After, that we passed round a rock that belonged to Holly and said what we had for breakfast, some of the things were very unhealthy!

We then went to multiple sensory garden walking through we looked at, smelt and touched lots of different plants ( one felt like a spider it gave me the shivers ). We explored a maze and two people from our group dashed in immediately! We followed the sensory path and made noise with the wooden instruments.

The last thing we did before lunch was bark rubbing. I just tried to make engraves in the paper with my hand, whereas I made my mum use charcoal . There were three different options; using your hand, using charcoal or using crayons. Below are some examples of what we created.

After lunch we moved to the band stand, we stood in a circle and holly gave us each a sound to make as she walked around the circle to make it sound like a rain storm.

After that the children were told to go in a line Sophie gave it a name, Catersnake, the activity was very fun, all the children wanted to be the Catersnake leader .

Lastly I took everyone drinks order and went to the café to order them and bring back to the group.

I had hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream. I also had chocolate sprinkles. Some other people had things such as a latte, orange juice, chocolate milk, orange tango and there were many other drink options.

The day was an extremely fun and exciting event. Below is a photo of us lying on blankets, listening to Zariq play the Sape.
