crunch!

sATURDAY 30th september,
westonbirt arboretum

Join us for Crunch! An adventure around the magical Westonbirt Arboretum.

Come and join Sonny, a wise woodsman of the forest! He’s been a little out of kilter recently and needs your help. Can you come exploring with us to find his friends? And together, we can restore the balance & harmony of nature!

With performance and fun, creative challenges along the way, CRUNCH! The Trail is a unique experience in nature for the whole family to enjoy!

Connect with the senses through textural interactions, soundscapes, creative audio description and joyous dance performance!

Tickets now available to one of two events on 30th September. Tickets give families entry to Westonbirt Arboretum and a place to experience to CRUNCH! The Trail.

The recommended age for children is 5-13 years. Younger children & babies are welcome too.

11:00am - 1:00pm For Visually Impaired Children & Families

The morning event is for families with a visually impaired child or parent. This is part of our ongoing work in collaboration with visually impaired dance artist, Holly Thomas.

As with our workshop event days, there will be time for conversation, play, tea & juice afterwards! New families are welcome to join.

“The audio description made the performance come to life more for my daughter but as a dyslexic adult it did the same for me too.” – quote from previous attendee.

Click here for tickets on Eventbrite.

You are welcome to come for free, or you can choose an amount you are happy to pay. Please select your preferred ticket option at the Eventbrite checkout.  All ticket income goes back into the project, helping us to put on future events with VI families in Gloucestershire.

how we made the show

In 2022, we delivered workshop event days with visually impaired children and families at Westonbirt Arboretum.

The creative contributions from the families have informed the artistic processes in making Crunch.

We also delivered workshops with Cirencester Opportunity Group and with Interdepen-Dance of Cirencester Dance Club. All workshops have contributed to how we make an interactive and textural performance in nature.
